Former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo Joins OKX Board
Andrew Cuomo is joining the board at OKX to help push for 24/7 tokenized stock trading in the United States.
coinbeat.newsFormer New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has officially joined the board of directors at crypto exchange OKX. The move comes after Cuomo spent time advising the company on its regulatory and institutional strategy since 2023. He is now publicly advocating for the move toward round the clock trading for tokenized stocks.
During a recent media appearance, Cuomo suggested that digitizing equities will make investing more accessible by allowing for fractional ownership and instant settlement. This position aligns with his work on a joint venture between OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange, which is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. The goal of that partnership is to bring traditional stocks onto the blockchain.
This appointment is part of a larger push by OKX to build credibility within the United States. The exchange has been hiring figures with deep backgrounds in finance and government to support its expansion. The company currently reports a global customer base of around 120 million users.
OKX is working to move past a difficult legal chapter. In February 2025, the exchange pleaded guilty to running an unlicensed money transmitting business and agreed to pay over 504 million dollars. Cuomo provided policy advice to the exchange while it navigated those federal investigations.
