Federal law enforcement officers confiscated more than $560,000 in digital assets during a major counterterrorism operation targeting Hamas funding networks. Court filings show that investigators executed three seizure warrants throughout 2025 to disrupt the financial operations of the militant group. Officials stated that the Al Qassam Brigades used cryptocurrency to gather donations and recruit supporters online.

The Department of Justice worked closely with blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis to track these illicit funds. Investigators used specialized tools to identify cross chain bridges and money mules. By analyzing shared gas funding wallets, authorities mapped out the digital infrastructure and coordinated with private exchanges to freeze target addresses and intercept incoming transfers.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro warned that terrorist fundraising networks remain vulnerable to law enforcement tracking. Authorities successfully dismantled the main Hamas website, which allowed agents to capture vital intelligence on thousands of donors.
