LIVETravelers can now use Bitcoin and other digital assets to buy flights with Emirates. The major airline teamed up with Crypto.com to offer this new payment option on its website and mobile app.
For now, the feature is available to eligible UAE residents who make bookings priced and settled in Emirati Dirham. Customers just need to select Crypto.com Pay at checkout. This rollout follows a partnership between the two companies announced last year, building on plans the airline first teased back in 2022.
Airline leaders noted that the update responds to younger travelers who manage their money digitally. The launch also supports local government goals, specifically aligning with Dubai's strategy to push digital transactions across both public and private sectors by the end of 2026.
Traders and travelers should watch for future expansions as the service rolls out to more regions and account holders outside the UAE. Crypto adoption in the travel sector continues to grow steadily.
