Mining pool EMCD just announced a $30 million support program to help Bitcoin miners stay afloat during a difficult period for the industry. With Bitcoin hashprice hitting record lows and operators struggling to keep older hardware running, the company hopes to provide a lifeline for those facing tight profit margins.

The new program offers miners a variety of tools to lower their costs. Eligible participants can access liquidity at 3.9 percent APR, allowing them to cover expenses without having to sell their Bitcoin during a market downturn. The initiative also includes 60 days of zero pool commission fees and special pricing on hardware optimization software.

This move comes after a rough stretch for the sector, which has seen significant hashrate go offline recently. EMCD is also working with hardware manufacturers and data centers to offer additional discounts on equipment and hosting services. The firm aims to assist miners in managing their cash flow until market conditions improve.

EMCD founder Michael Jerlis noted that successful miners are those who actively manage their operations during downturns rather than just waiting for prices to recover. By offering both financial and operational support, the company intends to keep its pool participants competitive during this industry stress test.
