Data Breach Exposes Personal Records at Dallas Nonprofit

A Dallas based nonprofit, the Resource Center of Dallas, recently confirmed a significant data breach affecting 12,490 people. The organization, which focuses on LGBTQ health and advocacy, reported that unauthorized parties gained access to their systems for eight days in February 2026. The review process for the incident concluded in early July.

The exposed data includes highly sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, medical records, health insurance details, and government identification. While the majority of affected individuals reside in Texas, people across the country were impacted by the security failure.

In response to the breach, the Resource Center has updated its internal security protocols to prevent similar incidents. Affected parties are now receiving notification letters by mail. This event serves as a reminder for all users to remain vigilant regarding their personal information and to monitor their financial and medical accounts for any signs of suspicious activity.
