LIVEA large cap stock fund managing 4.5 billion dollars has placed two crypto linked companies at the top of its portfolio. The GRNY ETF recently reported that MicroStrategy and Robinhood represent over 6 percent of its total holdings combined. While the fund focuses on general US equities, these two positions give shareholders indirect exposure to digital asset markets.
MicroStrategy currently sits in the top spot with a weight of 3.02 percent, while Robinhood follows closely at 2.99 percent. Both companies were part of the portfolio during a recent equal weight rebalance. MicroStrategy climbed to the number one position following a significant price rally in late August and early September, which helped it outpace other stocks in the fund.
It is important to note that these stocks offer different types of exposure compared to a direct Bitcoin product. MicroStrategy holds a massive treasury of Bitcoin, meaning its stock price often mirrors moves in the crypto market alongside its own corporate financing risks. Robinhood offers a different connection, as its revenue is tied to crypto trading volumes, though it remains a diversified retail finance platform.
This shift shows how crypto volatility can enter mainstream investment portfolios through public companies. While this specific fund remains focused on its standard mandate, the development highlights how generalist managers are increasingly interacting with crypto assets through equity markets rather than direct ownership.
