LIVEBitcoin miner and infrastructure provider Core Scientific just dropped its second quarter earnings report, showing total revenue doubled compared to last year. The growth came largely from its expanding artificial intelligence colocation business, which quickly became its biggest operational segment.
Despite the strong top line growth, the company reported a massive net loss of 1.15 billion dollars. This large deficit came from a non cash accounting charge related to changes in the fair value of its warrants. Core Scientific continues to pivot its massive data center footprint toward high performance computing to capture new revenue streams outside of standard proof of work mining.
Traders and investors should keep a close eye on how fast Core Scientific can convert its power capacity into active artificial intelligence contracts. The market will also watch to see if these non cash accounting hits affect day to day operations or future expansion plans as the race for data center space heats up.
