Financial titan Citi is rolling out a new Bitcoin custody service later this year. The bank announced that its Custody Plus product will let institutional investors manage traditional assets and Bitcoin inside the same framework, removing the need for separate systems.

Chris Cox, who leads investor services at Citi, stated that the infrastructure aims to remove friction for clients. Institutional investors will gain near instant visibility across asset servicing, settlement, foreign exchange, and cash management, alongside the flexibility to build their own custom offerings on top of Citi tools.

This move comes as major American banks push further into digital assets, backed by a warmer regulatory climate in the United States. Citi executives have also expressed support for upcoming legislation like the Clarity Act, which aims to clearly define securities and commodities.

Traders should watch for the official rollout later this year, as the entry of a trillion dollar banking institution brings fresh institutional capital and credibility to the digital asset sector.
