China has already processed $2.37 trillion using its state backed digital currency system, according to recent statements from Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad. While speaking in a recent interview, Shirzad pointed out that the United States Senate has still not passed clear crypto rules, leaving the country behind in building the financial plumbing of the future.

China's digital yuan has handled nearly 3.5 billion payments, showing massive growth over the past few years. Meanwhile, another regional payment network backed by Beijing has settled over $55 billion. China also integrated the digital yuan directly into regular bank accounts to offer interest and deposit insurance, giving it an edge that no other major economy has matched yet.

Despite China leading the state run payment rails, the US still dominates private crypto markets. Dollar backed stablecoins hold a market cap of over $300 billion, while Chinese alternatives remain small. American companies also lead in overall private tech spending, though firms like Coinbase now use lower cost Chinese artificial intelligence models to cut operational expenses.

Traders should watch for upcoming moves in the US Senate regarding stablecoin legislation and watch if international payment networks start handling major commodity trades. The global race for digital money infrastructure is speeding up, and policy choices made today will shape market trends for years.
