Bybit prevented more than $700 million in potential losses for its users during the first half of 2026. This figure comes from a recent security report covering the period between January 1 and June 15. The exchange blocked over 30,000 suspicious withdrawal requests, protecting nearly 20,000 individual users in the process.

This success represents a significant increase in security performance. For comparison, the company intercepted $300 million in losses throughout the entire year of 2025. Bybit credits this improvement to a new AI assisted auditing system that scans for vulnerabilities at a much faster rate than manual reviews.

Beyond automated protection, Bybit is taking direct legal action against major bad actors. The firm recently sued the Lazarus Group and other entities in a US court, securing an injunction to freeze $30.5 million in stolen assets. The exchange has already recovered roughly $48.4 million related to previous attacks.

These developments come as the industry faces widespread security threats. While market hackers managed to steal over $1 billion across various platforms in early 2026, Bybit reports that its automated monitoring and rapid incident response have kept its internal systems clear of major losses.
