LIVEBitcoin is facing a rocky start to the year, but institutional giants are signaling confidence. BlackRock recently reduced the minimum in kind conversion threshold for its Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, by 96 percent. This change drops the barrier from 25 million dollars down to just 1 million, which is designed to bring a much wider range of accredited and institutional investors into the fold.
The timing is notable given the recent market volatility. While Bitcoin has pulled back from its previous highs, spot ETFs recorded their strongest inflow week since mid April, totaling roughly 853 million dollars. BlackRock alone contributed to this surge by adding over 9,000 BTC to its holdings. This suggests that while retail traders may be wary of macro economic pressures, professional investors are using current price levels to accumulate more exposure.
Technically, Bitcoin is currently trapped in a consolidation phase between 63,000 and 65,000 dollars. This zone is acting as a critical support level. If ETF buying continues at this pace, analysts expect the price to test the 70,000 dollar mark. However, traders should watch for inflation data closely, as any negative surprises could push the asset back down toward the 60,000 dollar psychological support level.
