Bitmine Nears 5.8 Million ETH Milestone

Bitmine Immersion Technologies is continuing its aggressive buying strategy. The company added 10,399 ETH to its holdings over the past week, bringing its total treasury to 5,797,813 coins. This stash is now valued at approximately $10.9 billion, giving the firm control over nearly 5% of the total circulating supply.

Chairman Tom Lee noted that the company has added to its position every single week since June 30 of last year. Lee points to the recent performance of ETH, which outpaced the Nasdaq 100 by 25% in July, as evidence that the fundamentals of the network are strengthening. The firm currently holds more ETH than any other corporation.

Beyond simple accumulation, the firm is putting its assets to work. It has deployed 4.92 million ETH into its staking platform, which accounts for 85% of its total holdings. The company projects that these staking activities will generate roughly $291 million in annual rewards, creating a significant revenue stream alongside its direct asset ownership.

Investors will be watching to see if Bitmine reaches the 5.8 million ETH threshold in the coming days. As the company continues to acquire, it remains a central player in the institutional interest surrounding the second largest cryptocurrency.
