LIVEBitMart announced today that it will begin an orderly wind down of its operations. The exchange has already stopped accepting new registrations, deposits, and new trading orders. Existing users have until the end of January to close their positions and move their assets off the platform. Withdrawals will remain available for customers during this transition period.
The news hit the exchange native token, BMX, hard. The price dropped over 60 percent shortly after the announcement, sliding from 0.32 dollars to 0.09 dollars. This continues a difficult period for the asset, which is now down 90 percent from its peak earlier this year.
This closure follows a trend of platform exits that includes BitMEX, which recently announced it would shut down in September. Other projects like the DEX aggregator Odos and the exchange Dango have also declared they are stopping services this month. The shift suggests that current market conditions are forcing many platforms to reconsider their long term viability.
Traders should prioritize moving their funds immediately. While the platform has committed to keeping withdrawals open, it is always safer to self custody assets when an exchange signals a shutdown. Keep an eye on your remaining balances and follow the official withdrawal steps provided by the company.
