Bitcoin Veterans Launch $40M Fund to Buy Small Businesses

A group of Bitcoin industry veterans, including macroeconomist Lyn Alden and investor Jeff Booth, has officially launched a new investment firm called Orange Juice. The company has secured 40 million dollars in funding to acquire and manage small and mid sized businesses. Unlike traditional private equity firms that look to flip companies for a quick profit, this firm plans to hold its acquisitions indefinitely.

The core strategy involves improving the operations of these businesses and using a portion of their retained earnings to accumulate Bitcoin as a primary treasury asset. This approach aims to create a sustainable, cash flowing business model that is backed by digital assets rather than relying solely on market speculation.

Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas serves as the anchor investor for the project. The founding team plans to take the company public in the future, providing a new way for investors to gain exposure to cash flowing businesses that utilize Bitcoin as a reserve.

This launch arrives as the trend of corporate Bitcoin treasuries continues to face scrutiny following recent market volatility. While many companies have struggled with the pressure of holding digital assets during downturns, the Orange Juice team hopes their focus on underlying business operations will provide more stability for the long term.
