Crypto traders betting against the market took a massive hit today as Bitcoin prices jumped. Over the last 24 hours, about $1.93 billion in leveraged positions were wiped out. Market data shows that those betting on a price drop, known as short sellers, suffered the most with $1.75 billion in liquidations.

Bitcoin led the market movement, with $1.15 billion of the total liquidations tied directly to the leading asset. Ethereum traders also faced significant pressure, seeing $516 million in positions closed out by exchanges. In total, more than 127,000 individual traders were forced out of their positions.

Bitcoin is currently trading near $68,344, marking a gain of more than 5.6 percent over the last day. The sudden price move caught many investors off guard, showing how quickly market sentiment can turn.
