LIVEBitcoin is currently experiencing some of the lowest price volatility on record. According to research from Fundstrat Global Advisors, these quiet periods are almost always followed by massive price swings. Looking at historical data, the firm found that Bitcoin typically moves by about 30 percent in either direction within two months after hitting these low volatility levels.
While this pattern predicts the size of the move, it does not confirm the direction. If we apply this 30 percent shift to the current price near 64,000 dollars, we could see Bitcoin climb toward 83,200 dollars or drop down to 44,800 dollars. Traders should prepare for significant action regardless of which way the market breaks.
Recent price increases appear to be driven by traders closing out short positions rather than new money entering the market. This type of rally has happened before, only to fade away quickly. Analysts suggest that rising real bond yields remain the biggest threat to stability, as they could force Bitcoin out of its current tight trading range.
Keep an eye on bond yield trends in the coming weeks. If these yields continue to climb, they could provide the catalyst that ends this period of relative calm. For now, the market remains in a wait and see phase as traders anticipate the next major shift.
