A former commercial relationship manager in Montana has admitted to a scheme involving bank fraud. Jordan Andrew Hennessy pleaded guilty to falsifying a loan application at First Interstate Bank. He used his professional access to negotiate and approve a $50,000 line of credit for himself under the name Stillwater Group.

After securing the funds, Hennessy moved the money into a joint account and then into his personal checking account. He reportedly used the stolen cash to finance various online investment activities. The bank never received repayment, as Hennessy defaulted on the fraudulent credit line.

The Department of Justice noted that Hennessy placed himself on both sides of the transaction to bypass security protocols. He now faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison, along with a fine of up to $1 million. This case serves as a sharp reminder that internal controls remain a major point of focus for financial institutions monitoring for suspicious activity.
