Avalanche Stablecoin KRW1 Brings Korean Won to Visa Networks

Korea's first won backed stablecoin, known as KRW1, is expanding into global payments through a partnership with stablecoin payments provider Rain. This integration lets businesses accept cards issued in won, which can be spent at more than 175 million Visa merchant locations around the world.

Built on the Avalanche network, KRW1 bridges traditional fiat currency with blockchain speed and reach. The move opens up fresh utility for regional stablecoins, allowing everyday merchants to process transactions using Korean won without dealing with traditional banking friction.
