Arthur Hayes Uses Biblical Story to Pitch FLOP Token

Arthur Hayes is back with another unconventional pitch for his new project. In a recent essay sent to his subscribers, the crypto figure framed the origin of the FLOP token as a biblical creation story rather than using a standard whitepaper. He cast himself as the human who solves the economic problems of artificial intelligence.

The essay explains that autonomous artificial intelligence agents need two main things to gain independence from central providers. These include compute power paid for in FLOP and decentralized storage for agent data. Hayes also pointed to networking theories to suggest the Flop Network could eventually surpass Bitcoin in value, though no outside analysis currently supports this claim.

On the technical side, the update revealed a mining system called proof of useful inference. Miners will earn rewards for processing artificial intelligence requests, while validators check the work. Hayes funded the team himself to skip a presale, and testnet participants can expect about twenty percent of the total supply over a ten year period.

Despite the new details, key questions remain unanswered. The project still lacks a traditional whitepaper, a clear supply schedule, security audits, and a named blockchain. Flop Labs plans to hold an airdrop in the fourth quarter of 2026, well ahead of the network launch scheduled for early 2027.
