LIVEAmerican Bitcoin, the venture co founded by Eric Trump, is leaning heavily into its mining operations. As of the end of June, the company held 8,002 BTC in total. Data from its recent filings shows that 3,090 of those coins are pledged to Bitmain as part of an ongoing strategy to acquire mining equipment. This represents approximately 38.6 percent of the company total Bitcoin reserves.
While the coins are currently pledged, they remain on the company balance sheet. American Bitcoin retains the right to redeem these assets by paying cash before specific windows close. If the company chooses not to pay cash when a deadline expires, the pledged Bitcoin will be used to complete the purchase of the mining hardware, effectively removing the coins from their treasury.
The timing of these redemptions is set by fixed windows rather than changes in the price of Bitcoin. Although fluctuations in market value change the economic incentives for keeping the coins, the company maintains the flexibility to choose between cash or Bitcoin payments for its hardware obligations. These arrangements were established through various tranches throughout 2025 and early 2026.
This aggressive push into mining infrastructure comes during a challenging time for the company stock, which recently underwent a reverse split to maintain Nasdaq compliance. Investors are watching closely to see how these hardware acquisitions impact future production capacity, especially as the company navigates recent financial losses and seeks to improve its performance per share.
