Serviceaide has reached a $1.8 million settlement following a class action lawsuit. This legal battle follows a 2024 security breach that allegedly exposed the sensitive data of 480,000 individuals. The incident took place between September 19 and November 5 of last year, impacting patients connected to the firm through healthcare partners.

Plaintiffs argued that the AI company failed to put proper security measures in place to guard private medical and personal records. The leaked information reportedly included Social Security numbers, health insurance details, and individual medical files. While the firm denies any wrongdoing, they opted for a settlement to end the ongoing litigation.

Those affected by the breach can now file a claim for compensation. People with proof of financial losses, such as bank fees or costs from identity theft protection, may be eligible for up to $5,000. Others who cannot document specific expenses may still receive a smaller cash payment, currently estimated at about $50.
