Aave crypto lending pools on the Monad network recently caught the attention of traders due to attractive yields. The USDT0 stablecoin lending pool showed a 6.10% annual percentage rate over the weekend. However, data from an Aavescan snapshot revealed that only $4.4 million was unborrowed out of a total supplied balance of $55.9 million. This means about 92% of the pool was currently locked up in active loans.

For lenders planning to pull out large amounts of cash, this tight buffer matters much more than the headline yield percentage. When suppliers withdraw tokens while loans remain active, the remaining pool utilization shoots up. This dynamic can automatically drive up interest rates for the lenders who stay behind, even if overall borrowing demand has not actually increased.

Market participants should watch how liquidity buffers change compared to headline rates when evaluating lending positions. A high yield can look appealing on the surface, but checking the available withdrawal balance helps ensure you can actually exit your position smoothly when needed.
